The Variety of My Art and Illustrations

Fri Dec 12, 2008, 6:59 AM
  • Mood: Sadness
  • Listening to: Absolution by Muse
  • Reading: The Anabasis of Cyrus by Xenophon
  • Watching: The Dark Knight
  • Playing: Medieval 2: Total War : Kingdoms
  • Eating: Something healthy
  • Drinking: Something non-alcoholic
Honestly I don't vary my artistic subjects because I think I'll interest a greater amount of people in them, instead I am simply enamored of so much of this world and try, desperately, to illustrate as much of it as possible.
And it’s more than that, as I really would not wish to ever be stuck in one mode or style or genre of art, for I sincerely love drastically changing my subjects from piece to piece to perpetually stay refreshed and interested.
I do know of artists who stay exclusively in wildlife art, or comic-book-art, or paleo-art, or fantasy art, or scifi-art, or horror/macabre art, or historical art, and so on but I would NEVER stay in one genre exclusively in perpetuity.
It’s best to look at it as eating food; I certainly like eating cream-corn, but that is not to say that I would like to eat cream-corn every day for the rest of my life!
Though I should temper that that this is not to say that I am an artist who will never go back to one subject or another after initially working in it, as I’m beginning a large-scale and seemingly singular genre project at the moment, but it is more that even while working in a continuous style I’m actually still working in other genres at the same time; think many artistic balls perpetually being juggled in air with new balls seemingly being added to the juggle weekly!
The best way to look at my gallery is to look at it as a buffet, as I like to look at all my varied subjects as such.
But again, I do not go to opposite ends of the artistic spectrum for necessarily the enticement of viewers as, though I do honor and respect those who enjoy my artwork and perhaps gain incite from it, my first responsibility is what interests ME as an artist.
Some, perhaps those who are not artists, would think that rather selfish, and those people are, absolutely, right!
Artwork, as a rule, is best conjured, created, and viewed as a personal (and in the case of some of my darker works, intensely personal) endeavor, as artwork at its best is not run by committee or by voting on what is best subjected, it is always best created with the singular being’s personal driving wishes.
And that is the exact case with my innumerable menagerie; I personally am intensely interested in all the varied subjects given and, hopefully, always will be.

News Item: Ahmadinejad mocks Obama, calls him a 'disappointment.'

Well all I can say to that is: 'The enemy of my enemy is NOT my friend.'

Why isn't obama on FAIL BLOG yet?

Thank you very much!
I hope to create ever better and better works as time goes by and/or allows.
And it's always nice to see someone appreciates my modest examples!

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy them! I'm trying to post as many Lovecraftian illustrations as is possible seeing that I'm building up to create an epic art-project surrounding Lovecraft's manifold characters and worlds.

Glad to be here! I would hope that my varied menagerie of work is most like numerous pieces of yarn knotted together; one massive f@cking mess but worth looking at! I personally enjoy your artwork, originality in spades and then some. I especially love 'I May Be Paranoid'; Radiohead rules!

Thanks. I've been a viewer of the deviantart galleries for some time and I finally decided to submit some art of my own. My artistic interests are perpetually pulling me in fifty different directions at once; just the way I like it! Personally I don't think I could remain in one genera or mode of art, I'm always exploring new art and new ways of creating art.
